The Hawaiian Islands: Mālama Ambassadors

It has never been easier to help your clients plan an enriching trip to Hawaii. The destination is actively extending an invitation to visitors to rethink how they travel by taking part in at least one activity from a rich assortment of opportunities to malama. Simply put, malama means to take care — of our earth, each other and ourselves. Volunteer projects range from reforestation and tree planting to self-directed beach cleanups and ocean reef preservation along with opportunities to restore ancient loko ia (fishponds) or protect native species’ habitats. And travelers don’t necessarily need to set aside substantial chunks of their vacation to get involved. Many can be done over the course of a few hours in the morning or afternoon, at varying levels of activity effort.

For inspiration to take hold, your clients should be empowered by information. Help them find their way back to Hawaii with the latest updates on how to explore the islands mindfully. Stay on top of the latest health and safety policies, and help your clients create enriching experiences on their next vacation.

Join our representatives from the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau, each Island Chapter and more than 25+ Hawaii supplier partners for The Hawaiian Islands: Malama Ambassadors – an online virtual event for travel advisors that occurred December 1 and 2, 2021.
