Antibodies have become the preferred therapeutic modality for cancer, infectious diseases, inflammatory and autoimmune disorders, and other conditions. The development of new antibodies targeting pharmaceutically relevant epitopes requires technologies that mimic the complex protein interactions within our immune systems. One powerful, proven technology for antibody discovery is biopanning with phage display. Libraries of antibody molecules are expressed on the surface of phage and sifted based on favorable binding against an antigen of interest. Importantly, the likelihood of generating valuable candidate antibodies from this workflow is directly connected to both the number of structurally and functionally relevant antibodies screened, and the quality of the underlying library used to express these antibodies.
In this webinar, we discuss the latest in library synthesis technology, and its use to build innovative libraries that harness structural and developability features to cover a wide range of antibody drug targets. We show how these libraries enable the discovery of high-affinity drug-like antibodies, often without the need for affinity maturation. We also discuss the use of these high-quality libraries to develop antibodies targeting hard-to-drug target classes like GPCRs, ion channels, and carbohydrates.

He also oversaw all discovery research functions both as a Vice President at Surrozen, and previously, at Sutro Biopharma, Inc.
Steven is the Twist Biopharma Business Development Manager. He holds a Master's degree in Biology from San Diego State University Biology. He has extensive experience supporting the synthesis and application of commercial combinatorial variant libraries.
